CARE CLUB

Care Club is an Initiative started by Dr. Tarita Shankar, Chairperson, Indira Group of Institutes, Pune in the year 2013. CARE stands for:

C-Counsel A-Advise R-Rise E- Evolve

The young generation has its own set of fears, anxieties, challenges, and peer pressure to deal with and may often be in a confused state of mind as to whether the direction that they’ve chosen is the right one. Some encounter hurdles in academics, problems in relationships with their parents, interpersonal relationships or even with their colleagues or friends, while someone may need trusted advice on how to take his/her career ahead.

The underlying thought behind having Care Club sessions is to offer emotional support, guidance, and motivation to students, alumni, and staff alike, arising out of Dr. Tarita Shankar’s rich experience at work and in life. A huge number of youngsters continue to find support and encouragement through her vast knowledge and sound advice, thus enabling them to transform into better and more caring human beings and adding happiness to society!

Over the past decade, besides regular counselling of students and staff, the Care Club has continued to engage in various welfare initiatives, such as:

  • The Mid-Day Meal Initiative, started on January 1, 2023, provides hygienic and healthy meals daily to over 500 students covered under the R.T.E. stream.
  • Covid Care Club Initiative, whereby home cooked and hygienic food was provided daily to over 200 needy families. Besides the same, active efforts were made towards making available essential medicines, hospital beds, medical equipment, and support to critical patients during the height of the COVID pandemic.
