‘Prasoon Joshi enthralls IGI students with his Genius’
The Indira Group of Institutes was all geared and set to have a one to one interaction with a genius who is a lyricist, screenwriter and advertising copywriter. The event took place at Dhruv Auditorium, Wakad. The event started by lighting of the lamp by the Guest for the day, Mr. Prasoon Joshi, Ms.Sabina Sanghvi, Station Head Pune, Radio One (94.3) FM. Chairperson Dr. Tarita Shankar (Indira Group of Institutes) and Group Director Prof. Chetan Wakalkar. Followed by Ganesh vandana. The interaction for students was enlightening as Mr. Prasoon Joshi started his interaction on a positive note saying, “Wasting time is also not actually wasting”, whatever learnt does not go waste. It is up to the individual how to utilize “Waste”. He added that every one of us is unparalleled. He enthralled the audience by reciting his poem “itna kyu sote hain hum” that he had written after 26/11 to express his feelings of pain and anger over the Mumbai terror attacks. Then the floor was open for all the students to ask questions and he welcomed them with a smile on his face. Questions flew in thick and fast as students asked him about his ads like “thanda matlab Coca-Cola and happy dent”. As he was asked if it was a mere coincidence that he worked with Amir Khan so or that he shares some personal equation with him, the adman replied, “ it was not a conscious decision just we had a compatibility that clicked and the work is in front. One of the interesting questions one student asked was, “Are creative people moody or logical”, to which Prasoon replied by saying, “Creative can not be logical and logical people can not be creative”, which boosted the students to ask more questions pertaining to their respective fields.
The interaction ended on a very touching and emotional note as Prasoon Joshi rnedered one of his most emotive and expressive compositions,“Babul meri itni araj sun li jiye” “Jiya mora ghabraye, babul! bin bole raha na jaye! Mohe sunar ke ghar na deejiyo , Mohe jewar kabhi na bhaye Babul meri itni araj sun lijiye Mohe luhar ke ghar de dijiye Jo meri janjeerain pighlayen!”
Asmita Dani, Director, Indira School of Communication, proposed the vote of thanks, and the event concluded by Chairperson Dr. Tarita Shankar felicitating the guests, Mr. Prasoon Joshi & Ms. Sabina Sanghvi, Station head (94.3) Pune.
